The DAAD Regional Office in Vietnam promotes the exchange of students, postgraduates, researchers, artists and university managers. Every year, the DAAD awards long-term and short-term scholarships for Vietnamese students, researchers and scientists to promote the internationalization of science and research. The work of the DAAD focuses on nurturing talented young people and encouraging them to study in Germany. The aim is to support high-performing students through one of the many programs and attract them as partners for Germany.

The Erasmus Program is an EU exchange student program that has been in existence since the late 1980s. Its purpose is to provide foreign exchange options for students from within the European Union and it involves many of the best universities and seats of learning on the continent. Since 2014 Erasmus opened to the world, became Erasmus+, and brought opportunities for students worldwide to apply for the scholarship.

During the meeting, tentative collaborative programs such as student exchange, staff mobility training, and student mobility were discussed. DAAD also provided meaningful information about the support of DAAD for universities in Vietnam, including DAAD scholarship in short term and long term study. The meeting affirmed the great potential of promoting academic and education cooperation and exchange among institutions.
