Workshop implementing STEM Education in high schools of Thai Nguyen Province

On April 15, a workshop to support the implementation of STEM education in high schools of Thai Nguyen province took place at Thai Nguyen University of Technology (TNUT). The theme of the workshop was "The system of orientations in lesson preparation and organizing STEM teaching ".

The workshop was jointly organized by Thai Nguyen Department of Education and Training and TNUT. Attending the conference, on the side of the Department of Education and Training of Thai Nguyen province were Dr. Dao Xuan Tan - Deputy Director of Department of Education and Training of Thai Nguyen province; Mr. Nguyen Van Hai - Chairman of the Trade Union of Thai Nguyen Province; The leaders of specialized departments of the Department of Education and Training; Principals/Vice-Principals, School Union Presidents and Technology teachers of 35 high schools in Thai Nguyen province

On the side of TNUT, there were Dr. Do Trung Hai – Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice Rector of the University; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Minh Duc – Vice Rector; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Ngoc Pi - Vice Rector and other leaders of the University; leaders and specialists of departments and centers of TNUT

Dr. Dao Xuan Tan - Deputy Director of Thai Nguyen Department of Education and Training and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Ngoc Pi - Vice Rector of University of Technology gave an opening speech at the beginning of the workshop. After listeing to the two reports: “System of orientation orientation in preparing lectures and organizing STEM teaching” by Assoc. Dr. Pham Thanh Long - Head of Department of Science- Technology and International Cooperation (TNUT) and "Application of 3D printing technology in building STEM learning and teaching models" by Dr. Hoang Tien Dat - Head of STEM Department (TNUT), participants had a discussion about these two reports.

Also at this workshop, the participants also visited an exhibition of products for STEM Education created by TNUT teachers and students. In addition, TNUT has donated a teaching model for teaching STEM for Grade 11 Technology to 5 high schools. It is expected that in May and June, TNUT will complete the fabrication and give to all high schools in Thai Nguyen province 02 models each to serve the teaching of STEM subjects in Grade 11 Technology.
