Dr Jonathan Paxman of Curtin University, Australia visited Thai Nguyen University of Technology (TNUT)

On 14th September 2011, accepting the invitation from the Rector of Thai Nguyen University of Technology (TNUT), Dr Jonathan Paxman, a senior lecturer from Curtin University, Australia paid a visit to TNUT.

After the welcoming speech, the Rector, Associate Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dang Binh expressed the good will to cooperate with Australian Universities and particularly Curtin University in scientific research as well as academic exchange.

Dr Jonathan Paxman then lead a seminar on “Teaching Mechatronics” and “Research on Automation” to some of the university’s  potential teachers. Also attending this seminar is TNUT’s Vice Rector, Associate Professor. Dr. Nguyen Dang Hoe. The seminar went productively with different discussions raised regarding the calculations of mathematical figures and the use of automatic systems in production.

Before leaving for Australia, Dr Jonathan Paxman spoke highly of TNUT’s contribution to the development of Vietnam. This had been represented throughout the university’s 45 years history, training more than 30,000 engineers, over 5,000 technicians and thousands masters of engineering. He also hoped for the promotion of educational exchange between the two universities.
