I. Training Objectives

To train engineers with bachelor's degree in construction engineering and provide the students with a comprehensive and modern training program that connects with practice, focuses on design and civil construction, and establishes in joint-industrial relations with other construction industries,ác năng đề xuất các vấn đề đề cụ thể trong thực tiễn đời sống và kỹ thuật and with the objectives to prepare the quality, knowledge and skills for future civil engineers and for their success in the professional and dynamic construction industry.

II. Granduation Standards

1. Knowledge:

- To equip with a strong and suitable knowledge of basic sciences such as math, chemistry, physics, philosophy, and so on, and fundamental knowledge in construction engineering and other relevant industries.

- To provide the students with professional knowledge in the design and construction of civil works, the application of which is intended to resolve technical issues in construction industry creatively by using such methods and techniques as analyzing, modeling, computing, designing and evaluating.

- To develop the knowledge in and understanding of contemporary issues, especially about modern construction technologies.

2. Skills:

a. Information technology skills

- To use the computer and office IT software fluently

- To use the Internet and email fluently

- To use analytic, computing, design and construction structure simulation software fluently.

- To equip the students with the skills and abilities to gather and process information, analyze requirements, and restrict design objectives using binding conditions. The courses will provide the skills to analyze, describe the design or construct work, or deal with specific engineering tasks based on provided documents and drawings.

b. Communication skills

To train the students about communication strategies, verbal and written communication skills in technical field, communications using multimedia and specific graphics such as situations analysis for communication, selection of communicative strategies, fluent and clear written communication skills, technical communication skills in the presentations of construction projects, e-communication skills in the electronic presentations, using various means such as charts, draft drawings and technical drawings, architectural structure alternatives, etc., and through seminar reports, course projects, graduation projects. In graduation practice, the students will have opportunities to contact with external organizations to propose expectations and requests, etc., in collecting data for purposes of the work in order to practice persuasive skills for the intended purposes. These will equip the students with abilities to communicate with partners for contracts and performance of duties when they go to work after graduation.

c. Teamwork

Some course projects, seminars, course practice reports, etc. require students to work in a team. Students will actively set up teams and select team leaders to effectively coordinate team activities and assign tasks that conform to the abilities, strengths, personalities, preferences, living conditions and others of each of team members; Teams will conduct performance self-evaluation and select and assign the members to present their ideas and specific solutions in front of the lecturers and classmates. This will equip the students, after graduating and going to work, with abilities to coordinate with technical, IT and other business departments in an organization effectively to manage construction-related processes and products...

d. Foreign language

Have the abilities to read and translate technical documentation in English; to basically communicate in English in social and professional contexts. Level-B equivalent qualification.

3. Attitude:

To equip the students with sense of responsibility toward the work and community; spirit of cooperation, support, environmental protection, disciplinary attitude and professional behavior; patience and flexibility at work; innovative thinking as demonstrated by the abilities to summarize and generalize knowledge, skills and personal attitude; passion and eagerness and commitment to lifelong learning.

4. Positions and employment abilities after graduating:

- To perform technical tasks, organize the construction, and direct on the construction site.

- To consult on the design, supervision, and bid for construction projects.

- To work at management agencies in relation to construction industry such as project management units, departments and agencies, etc.

- To engage in teaching subjects in Construction field (Civil construction works, Transportation works, Irrigation works) in the universities, colleges, professional and vocational schools.

- To conduct scientific research, apply and implement research projects in practice in architecture and construction fields in research institutes, research centers and agencies of the ministries, departments, and universities, etc.

5. Abilities to attend higher education after graduating:

- To have self-learning and self-research abilities into issues in construction.

- To have opportunities to learn and engage in higher education such as master, doctoral or doctoral research fellow courses in domestic and foreign universities, centers and institutes.
