In the morning of February 26th, 2018, Thai Nguyen University of Technology (TNUT) had a meeting with the delegation of Gyeongsang National University (GNU) - Korea at the meeting room of Administrative Building. TNUT’s participants were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Ngoc Pi - TNUT’s Rector, Nguyen Tuan Minh, PhD – Director of International Training Centre, Nguyen Thi Thanh Ha, PhD – Deputy Head of Office of International Affairs and Nguyen Minh Y – Vice Dean of International Training Faculty.
Representatives from GNU were Mr Jai Huyn Byun - Dean of College of Engineering and Mr Yun Seok Heon – Vice Dean of College of Engineering.
Founded in 1948, GNU is a national flagship university representing South Gyeongsang Province, has been making utmost efforts to foster creative, civil and knowledgeable professionals equipped with an aptitude for learning and a pioneering spirit. GNU has been positioning itself as an internationally recognized institution, consisting of 13 colleges and 10 graduate schools with 810 professors, 530 administrative staffs and some 25,000 students across three campuses – Gajwa and Chilam in Jinju and Tongyeong campus. Furthermore, GNU has been focusing on students’ employment and educational development in association with businesses and industrial complex in the west of South Gyeongsang Province and east of South Jeonnam Province including Jinju Inno City and Aerospace Industrial Complex in Jinju and Sacheon.
During the meeting, TNUT and GNU introduced the university history, organization and capacity in training and doing research. Both institutions agreed to enhance international collaboration between TNUT and GNU by faculty exchange, student exchange, research collaboration and teaching collaboration. The meeting affirmed the great potential of promoting academic and education cooperation and exchange between the two institutions.
