Speaking at the conference, Dr Nguyen Manh Hung emphasized that there are quite many similarities in education and training orientation. He said that, because TNUT has succeeded in international cooperation and programs taught in English, NTTU would like to study and cooperate in higher education and graduate training. The purpose of this cooperation is to become one of the top applied science universities of Vietnam. Therefore, Vietnam education would develop and keep pace with the education of other countries in the area.

Replying NTTU’s Rector, Assoc. Prof. Dr said that, TNUT confirms responsibility for national education career. TNUT is always willing to cooperate with other universities to train students. “It is my honor to visit NTTU to exchange and share to make both our institutions develop. If this cooperation succeeds, this will be the first relationship between a state university and a private university, in which both institutions together share and enhance the development. I promise to do my best to keep the cooperation between us effectively developed”, said Assoc.Prof.Dr. Phan Quang The.

The next part of the conference was the MOA signing ceremony between TNUT and NTTU with the witness of lots of leaders and lecturers of two institutions.

Assoc. Prof. Dr Phan Quang The has ingratiated NTTU’s  lecturers by his intelligence and resolution

On behalf of TNUT’s delegation, Assoc. Prof. Dr Phan Quang The also presented the experience when 2020 NFL project was implemented at  TNUT. This is the first success in the country. “Nothing’s impossible”. He confirmed that we could succeed if we were determined to do our best. Despite many contrary ideas when this project carried out, TNUT succeeded in this project. The proof is that 59 lecturers achieved 500 TOEFL ITP and 94 lecturers got over this. To students, after one year getting 390, they will have to obtain at least 450 by 2019.

Also at the conference, Assoc. Prof. Dr Phan Quang The said that, we have to go abroad to study and apply the models of developed countries. Hence, we will be able to change traditional method and thinking to successfully integrate. English therefore must be the most important instrument in education renovation. We seem to illiterate without knowing any foreign languages in this modern world.

To study foreign language effectively, it is really necessary to have a language environment. At TNUT, the best way is using curriculum in English of advanced countries. Lecturers and advanced program students have to use books in English.

Doctor Do Thi Tam presented the E-learning implementation and application. This is an effective and modern teaching methodology. We would be old-fashioned in 5 years without using E-learning. Using E-learning effectively is a good way of improve teaching and learning quality.

The next program at the conference was the ebullient discussion among lecturers of two institutions. Many questions of how to succeed in teaching English to all students while their English levels are different and how to select curriculum, look for  teaching resources, etc  were given.

At the last of the conference, Assoc. Prof. Dr Phan Quang The gave a question which made many people think over: “Why can RMIT University attract lots of students who are not as good as students of other universities despite their high tuition fee? At RMIT, they have nothing without English environment better than any other universities”. “Why can’t we create such an English environment, instead of seeing them “taking money away from our citizens’ pocket”?

What a particularly interesting question!
