The delegates of National Chiao Tung University visiting Thai Nguyen University of Technology

In the morning of September 19th 2018, Thai Nguyen University of Technology (TNUT) had a meeting with the delegation of National Chiao Tung University (NCTU) at the meeting room of Administrative Building. TNUT’s participants were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Ngoc Pi - TNUT’s Rector, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Thanh Long – Head of Office of International Affairs and Nguyen Tuan Minh, PhD – Director of International Training Centre.

Representatives from NCTU included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cheng –Seng Huang – Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Yung-Jung Hsu, PhD - Head of Office of International Affairs, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tzu Kang Lin – Department of Civil Engineering and Yu –Chieh Lo, PhD – Department of Materials Science and Engineering .

National Chiao Tung University (NCTU) was originally founded in Shanghai in 1896 under the name of Nanyang College and shares the same origin as the Jiaotong universities in mainland China. In 1958, NCTU was re-established in Hsinchu City. Since then, the University had become the forerunner of science and technology in Taiwan and laid a firm foundation for the Hsinchu Science Park, the "Silicon Valley" of Taiwan. Over the years NCTU has become one of the most prominent universities in Taiwan. As a center of academic excellence of international repute, it has made significant contributions to the development of information, communication and
optoelectronics sciences and technology. A consequence of this has been the huge contribution the University has made to the economic development and consequent prosperity of Taiwan.

During the meeting, TNUT and NCTU introduced the university history, organization and capacity in training and doing research. Both institutions agreed to enhance international collaboration between TNUT and NCTU by faculty exchange, student exchange, research collaboration and teaching collaboration. The meeting affirmed the great potential of promoting academic and education cooperation and exchange between the two institutions.

After the meeting, the representatives of NCTU shared the information about their university and scholarship opportunities for lecturers and  students at TNUT. On this occasion, interviews between the members of two institutions were made to help the candidates find out the chance to study in Taiwan.
